On September 17, the Aerospace Corporation announced that it has promoted Kristin St. Peter as the company’s new senior vice president, general counsel and secretary, effective Jan. 2, 2027.
From Aerospace’s Chantilly headquarters, St. Peter will serve as an advisor to Aerospace leadership and its board of trustees, while also leading the Office of the General Counsel as it carries out its functions spanning legal, ethics, licensing and patents, compliance and internal audits. St. Peter succeeds Glenn McKeown, who will retire after serving in this role since 2022.
“Kristin’s experience, combined with her extensive mission-focused background, makes her an excellent fit for this position,” said Tanya Pemberton, Aerospace’s president and CEO. “Kristin will help ensure we remain well positioned to deliver trusted, independent expertise in support of our critical missions while upholding the legal and ethical responsibilities that guide our partnership with our customers.”
St. Peter brings to this role a distinguished record of leadership across the national security and intelligence communities. Prior to joining Aerospace in 2023, she served at the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA), where she was acting general counsel, leading a team responsible for advancing the agency’s legal mission. She previously served as DIA’s principal deputy general counsel.
Before her tenure at DIA, St. Peter held several senior executive roles at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA), including chief of the mission and international law team, chief of Congressional affairs, and deputy associate director for capabilities. Earlier in her career, St. Peter spent many years deployed across the Middle East and Africa providing critical legal support to U.S. and NATO operations while leading multinational teams of attorneys. She began her federal service in 2003 with the Naval Criminal Investigative Service.
