NGA seeks sources for a configurable mapping platform
On November 13, the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) posted the following request for information (Solicitation Number: CS111315). Responses are due no later than 12:00 pm Central Standard Time (CST) on November 30.
The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) has a need for a configurable mapping platform designed for developers to deploy modern, intuitive, customizable, user and mission focused dynamic and responsive maps on both mobile and desktop clients.
This mapping platform must be user-friendly and make it easy for developers to:
-
Build and share customized maps
-
Build and share geo applications
-
Visualize large geospatial datasets
-
Perform complex GIS Analysis (e.g. buffering, contouring, centroids, etc.)
-
Expose appropriate and relevant features, tools and maps via well-defined and standardized API’s
-
Deploy and scale in a cloud hosted virtual or containerized environment
-
Host and support the following types of geospatial datasets: Open Street Maps Base Terrain data Satellite Imagery
-
Process NGA imagery and data into lightweight base vector tiles for overlaying other data, make composite maps and stylize both the base tiles and layered data.
-
Host, support and integrate the following data types: Shapefile KML GeoJSON GeoTIFF VRT GPX CSV Geospatial SQLite database PostGIS database
-
Development/add intuitive user interfaces and interactions (e.g. animations, clustering, layer toggling, tooltips, etc)
-
Support Geocoding
-
Support, via API’s, integrating with data providers and sensors to provide low latency sensor to map imagery processing that will enable NGA to convert NGA collected imagery to maps.
