Michael Brasseur joins Booz Allen as EVP

On September 29, Booz Allen Hamilton announced Michael Brasseur, a pioneer in the U.S. Navy’s operational integration of maritime robotics, autonomy, and AI, has joined the company as an executive vice president. Brasseur will play a critical leadership role in shaping the company’s defense technology business, as well as partnership and innovation strategies.

A 26-year Navy veteran, Brasseur served as founding commodore of Task Force 59, the service’s first dedicated unit for unmanned systems and AI. Under Brasseur’s leadership, Task Force 59 evolved from concept to full operational capability in less than 18 months and accumulated over 35,000 hours employing maritime robotics above, on, and below the water in support of the warfighter. Years later, Task Force 59 continues to serve as a model for innovation in rapid adoption of dual-use technology to solve operational challenges within the Department of War.

“We are thrilled to welcome Michael to Booz Allen,” said Andrea Inserra, president of Booz Allen’s global defense business. “His extraordinary leadership, deep operational experience, and passion for accelerating advanced technology will strengthen our ability to drive mission impact for the nation and its allies.”

Brasseur joins Booz Allen after most recently serving as Saab, Inc.’s chief strategy officer responsible for developing the company’s five-year business plan and accountable for implementing the company’s technology roadmap. Additionally, as general manager of Saab, Inc.’s AI and autonomy accelerator, Skapa by Saab, he led a team of innovators focused on solving key operational problems by leveraging AI and autonomy to provide decision advantage to the warfighter working alongside end users.

“Michael brings an operator’s intuition and a technologist’s vision to Booz Allen,” said Steve Escaravage, president of Booz Allen’s defense technology business. “He understands the pressures warfighters face and the emerging technologies they need. His ability to unite government and industry to solve mission challenges will help propel our continued growth and deliver breakthrough capability to the warfighter.”
