On July 1, the United States Space Force (USSF) posted a request for information (RFI) for the Support to Training & Adversary Replication (STAR) requirement. Responses are due by 2:00 p.m. Eastern on July 30.
As the USSF’s professional adversary force, the Space Aggressor Squadrons are integrated across multiple domains to prepare Joint Forces and Coalition Partners for combat in and through contested space environments. By analyzing, teaching, and replicating realistic threats, these squadrons ensure allied victory. The primary aggressor squadrons, including the 527th Space Aggressor Squadron (SAS) for Electronic Warfare (EW), the 57th SAS for Orbital Warfare (OW), and the 33rd Range Squadron (RGS) for cyber, form the cornerstone of all threat replication for the USSF.
The 527th SAS focuses on GPS and SATCOM electronic attacks, while the 57th SAS replicates orbital warfare threats, both supported by the Air Force Reserve’s 26th SAS. The 33rd RGS, the first squadron of its kind, provides a dedicated cyber aggressor force and a distributed range environment for defensive cyber operations training for space systems. Together, these squadrons provide comprehensive, credible threat replication for advanced training, war-gaming, and testing, ensuring the USSF, joint, and coalition communities are prepared for the full spectrum of space and counterspace challenges.
This contract will provide non-personal services through subject matter experts in the following areas: SATCOM, EA, GPS EA, Offensive Cyber Operations (OCO), intelligence product generation, and OW. This includes support to mission planning, system support, development, testing, maintenance, education, training of Space Aggressors.
