Peraton announced on May 13 the appointment of Steve Kropac as vice president and general manager of Peraton Labs. In this role, Kropac will lead daily operations and implement the growth strategy of Peraton’s advanced research and development business unit.
With roots tracing back more than a century to Bell Labs, Peraton Labs is known for its decades of pioneering work in telecommunications, cybersecurity, and national security technologies. Today, the Peraton Labs team of world-class scientists, engineers, researchers, and technologists serve as the company’s engine for technology development and innovation.
“Steve’s deep technical expertise across cyber, telecommunications, and electronic warfare, combined with his track record of translating cutting-edge R&D into real-world capabilities makes him the right leader to take Peraton Labs to the next level,” said Todd Borkey, chief technology officer. “His experience working at the intersection of government and industry will be a tremendous asset as we continue to advance Peraton’s technology vision across the entire business portfolio and deliver differentiated, cutting-edge solutions for our customers.”
With 30 years of experience, Kropac is a recognized expert in telecommunications, cyber operations, electronic warfare, C5-ISRT capabilities, cloud computing, and 4G/5G networks. He brings a proven record of building and scaling high-performing technology organizations, developing novel R&D programs, and delivering mission-critical solutions for the nation’s most demanding customers. He will also support the growing demand for and deployment of Peraton’s proven agentic AI technology.
Most recently, Kropac served as chief technology officer and head of the technology solutions division at Chesapeake Technology International (CTI), a Parsons Company. Prior to CTI, he served as vice president and lead technologist for cyber operations research and engineering at CACI, where he led staff across six states and was responsible for more than 40 programs.
