Cyber AB adds to board

On January 26, the Cyber AB announced the election of its officers to lead its board of directors in 2026-2027, as well as four appointments of new directors. Current Chair Paul Michaels was reelected by the board to serve as chairman for another term, while Debbie Taylor Moore was elected as vice chair. Katherine Hennessey will serve as secretary and Wayne Boline was elected to the at-large position on the board’s executive committee. Chairman Emeritus Jeff Dalton remains an active director and member of the executive committee as well.

Michaels is the founder and CEO of Monoc, an industrial security firm specializing in foreign ownership, control, and influence (FOCI) compliance and trusted advisory services to corporate boards and executive leadership. Moore is the founder and CEO of The Quantum Crunch, a quantum security advisory firm. Hennessey is the head of government services at NightDragon, a technology investment firm. Boline is a director in the corporate governance, risk, and compliance organization at RTX. Dalton is the founder of Broadsword Solutions, LLC, a quality management consulting and appraisal company.

In addition, four new Directors have been appointed to the board: Michele Iversen, Beth Leonard, Kemba Walden, and Sounil Yu. All began their service at the board’s first meeting of the new year that was held last week in Northern Virginia.

Iversen is a principal and head of geopolitical and regulatory risk at The Chertoff Group. Previously she served as the director of risk assessment and operational integration at the Department of Defense. She has been an information technology supply chain risk management expert for most of her professional career. Her prior service included positions within the Intelligence Community and federal civilian executive branch agencies.

Leonard is the chief operating officer (COO) at R3, LLC, a provider of cloud, cybersecurity, and compliance solutions for mid-market and enterprise organizations. She has over 30 years of experience in IT, cyber/information security management, and quality assurance.

Walden currently serves as the president of the Paladin Global Institute, a subsidiary of the Paladin Capital Group. She served as the acting National Cyber Director in 2023 and was previously the principal deputy in the Office of the National Cyber Director.

Yu is the co-founder and chief AI officer at Knostic. He previously served as the Chief Security Scientist at Bank of America and CISO at JupiterOne. Yu created the Cyber Defense Matrix, the DIE Triad, and the Data Security Maturity Model frameworks, which have been influential in shaping cybersecurity strategy and maturity for many enterprises and national governments.

Chairman Michaels reflected, “I am honored with the trust and confidence of my fellow directors to lead The Cyber AB Board for another term. With CMMC rulemaking now complete, the next two years will be critical to the organization as we scale the AB to meet the growing demand of the Ecosystem and the DIB, as well as accommodate the growth of the Secure Controls Framework initiative. More importantly, I am absolutely thrilled to welcome our four new directors to the board. The impressive experience and quality of these individuals speak volumes as to how our Board has matured over the past several years. We are excited for these leading professionals to make an immediate positive impact on our governance and oversight effectiveness.”
