On November 19, Kraken announced that former U.S. Secretary of State and Director of the Central Intelligence Agency, Mike Pompeo, has joined the international advisory board of Kraken Technology Group, following on from his investment in the firm. He will be joined by Brian Bulatao, former COO of the Central Intelligence Agency and Under Secretary of State for Management, alongside Jonathan Moneymaker, the founder and CEO of leading U.S defense technology firm BlueHalo. Moneymaker was central to taking the business from inception to its $4 Billion sale this year.
This combined experience from across the national security, technology and defense industries will further support Kraken’s accelerated growth and development. This includes a move to large-scale localized manufacturing in several key strategic regions including the U.S., broadening of key technological partnerships, accelerated development and roll-out of operationally hardened capabilities and expansion of bespoke programs for a growing U.S. customer base.
This move follows the successful completion of a series of national demonstrations directly to operator groups in the U.S. Kraken is currently on contract with a number of U.S. customers including U.S. Special Operations Command and the U.S. Navy. Kraken will continue to develop and expand its position as an established market leader in the provision of uncrewed surface vessels (USVs) to the U.S. Department of War and its NATO Allies, the company said.
“Kraken is focused on delivering high-quality transformational capabilities to NATO Allies and international partners. The credibility and expertise of our international advisors is unparalleled, and their involvement confirms and supports a rapidly growing adoption of Kraken capabilities on both sides of the Atlantic,” Mal Crease, CEO and founder of Kraken Technology Group, said. “Kraken has firmly established its presence across NATO Europe and is now focused on embedding and expanding these proven capabilities in support of the U.S. and its Allies. We are humbled to have such captains of industry on our team.”
