Kunal Mehra tapped as Scientific Systems CEO

On September 30, Scientific Systems announced that Kunal Mehra has been named chief executive officer. Mehra succeeds his father and Scientific Systems founder Dr. Raman Mehra, who remains with the company as executive chairman. Kunal Mehra will lead the implementation of company strategy as it experiences rapid growth due to increased demands for cutting-edge autonomous solutions needed to address a new generation of threats facing our military.

Kunal Mehra, a graduate of Columbia University, most recently served as the president of Scientific Systems. He joined the company in 2005 after serving as vice president of strategy and market development at Equitant Inc, a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider that managed over $50 billion of revenue on behalf of market leaders including Microsoft, Cisco, Lucent and Hewlett Packard. Equitant Inc was acquired by IBM in 2005.

“We are at a critical point in history given the importance of AI-powered autonomy to maintain our supremacy on the battlefield and protect our nation. I am honored to continue the work that my father started and lead Scientific Systems into the next stage of its growth as we develop the cutting-edge technology our military needs,” said Kunal Mehra. “Scientific Systems has over 30 years of experience in the realm of artificial intelligence and an unmatched record of success in providing solutions for the Pentagon. We are now poised to lead the charge into a new age of autonomy and shape the future of national security,”

“Our company, which began with humble roots, has made incredible technological breakthroughs that have saved lives on the battlefield and equipped the warfighter with the world’s most effective AI-powered autonomy,” said Dr. Raman Mehra. “I am incredibly proud of what the Scientific Systems team has accomplished over the past three decades and I am excited about what the future holds for our company. Nobody understands our company’s values, culture and the pride we take in our work better than Kunal. He is the right leader at the right time to maintain our progress and lead this company into a new generation of technological breakthroughs and expansion.”
