Culmen acquires Madison Springfield

On August 25, Culmen International announced the recent acquisition of Madison Springfield, Inc., a pioneering firm specializing in AI/ML-enabled predictive platform engineered for autonomous data acquisition and analysis. This strategic acquisition significantly enhances Culmen’s capacity to provide real-time insights and proactive risk analysis in support of U.S. Government and international partners.

Through its proprietary platform, MOSAICS, Madison Springfield sources and synthesizes global data across more than 155 countries, applying advanced techniques such as natural language processing, deep learning, pattern recognition, and anomaly detection. The platform continuously collects and processes unstructured, structured, online, and offline data from authorized sources, delivering cleansed, normalized datasets and high-confidence indicators. Its human-in-the-loop framework ensures ongoing model refinement and validation, delivering high reliability and accuracy in identifying emerging geopolitical threats and strategic opportunities.

Building on its history of expert-level analysis of challenging security problem sets—including violent extremism, malign foreign influence, and great power competition—Madison Springfield leverages commercially available information (CAI) and publicly available information (PAI) to develop data-driven strategies and recommendations that help clients accomplish their security objectives. The company also provides subject-matter experts across disciplines who work on-site at customer locations to support and implement operations. The firm’s rapidly growing predictive analytics business is a natural evolution of these established lines of effort.

Beyond its robust predictive analytics, Madison Springfield supports customers in developing and operationalizing strategies to mitigate risk and respond effectively to evolving global challenges through all-data sourcing at global scale, sharpened by targeted, mission-specific indicators. Alerts are delivered via secure dashboards and integration feeds, complete with confidence scoring, geospatial context, link analysis, and recommended courses of action fast enough to change outcomes. Anywhere our customers operate, Culmen will now be able to provide multi-cloud or on-prem/air-gapped solutions, aligned to security and compliance requirements.

“This acquisition provides Culmen access to a powerful analytics platform and a portfolio of highly valued public sector and international clients,” said Culmen CEO Dan Berkon. “Our companies share a deep commitment to employee welfare, superior customer relationship management, and laser focus on our client mission success. These are the values that make this partnership a natural fit.”

Mark Dumas, Culmen’s chief strategy officer and vice president of the technology, research, and analytics Division, added, “The MOSAICS platform enables Culmen and our clients to anticipate and respond to geopolitical developments with increased precision and agility. Integrating this technology will further enhance our ability to support strategic decision-making in complex operating environments.”

Madison Springfield CEO Timothy Riesen, PhD stated, “Joining Culmen provides our team with the global infrastructure, technical depth, and operational support to further scale our impact. We look forward to advancing our mission together and delivering even greater value to our clients.”
