Michael Young joins Terran Orbital as BD SVP
On January 31, Terran Orbital announced the appointment of Michael Young as senior vice president of business development.
With over 28 years of experience in the communications and technology sectors, Young is a highly accomplished technology leader known for driving transformational change and delivering exceptional business results. As Terran Orbital continues to expand its capabilities and market presence, Young will play a critical role in leading business development initiatives, forming strategic partnerships, and accelerating the company’s growth in the defense and commercial space sectors.

Prior to joining Terran Orbital, Young served as vice president of business development at Hanwha Phasor, where he led a highly successful go-to-market strategy that generated a $1.5 billion sales pipeline within 18 months. He also held leadership roles at Ultra Intelligence & Communications, Envistacom, and General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies, where he played a pivotal role in securing high-value contracts and driving market expansion.
A proud U.S. Army veteran, Young served for over 16 years in key leadership roles, including Non-Commissioned Officer in Charge of High Bandwidth Systems for Communications Emerging Technologies at U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC). His military service provided him with deep technical expertise in satellite communications, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and enterprise IT architectures—all critical to today’s evolving defense landscape.
