SSC awards Omitron MASCOT contract

The U.S. Space Force’s (USSF) Space Systems Command (SSC) awarded a $46.3M Modernization Activities for Space Command and Control Technologies (MASCCOT) contract to Omitron Inc. for continued research, development, and deployment of modern, reliable, secure, redundant, and resilient Space Command and Control (C2) technologies.

The contract also includes technology upgrades to current data transport, data processing, and Space Domain Awareness (SDA) operational capabilities, as well as delivering capabilities that will address critical SDA C2 technology gaps. A key deliverable under the contract will be the completion of a Red IP Overlay Mission Network to provide a secure, resilient, and flexible architecture capable of transporting critical data to warfighters in real-time.

By leveraging advanced technologies and network optimization strategies, the network aims to integrate SDA and C2 data streams, facilitating seamless communication and decision-making in contested environments. This initiative plays a crucial role in operational readiness and ensuring a decisive advantage in space operations by enabling faster, more efficient responses to emerging threats across the space domain.

“Partnerships are key to advancing our Space C2 capabilities, providing real-time, critical data to warfighters,” said USSF Maj. Anthony Braden, DSC2-D deputy portfolio manager of SSC’s Battle Management Command, Control, & Communications Cross Mission Data Branch. “By integrating SDA and C2 data streams, we’re enhancing the ability for Space Force to provide decisionmaking and operational readiness to address emerging threats.”
