BAE Systems to continue supplying towed decoys and frequency converters at Pax River
The aircraft division of the Naval Air Warfare Center in Patuxent River, MD, intends to award a sole source, one-year contract to BAE Systems, of Nashua, NH, for lot 5 of the AN/ALE-55 Fiber Optic Towed Decoys (FOTDs), as well as Electronic Frequency Converters (EFCs), which are deployed as part of the Integrated Defensive Electronic Countermeasures (IDECM) Radio Frequency Countermeasure (RFCM) program.
A presolicitation notice published by the Navy on May 2 indicated that the Naval Air Warfare Center plans to procure 300 of the towed decoys and 20 of the frequency converters.
“BAE Systems is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and depot repair facility of the ALE-55 FOTDs and EFCs systems, having won a full and open competition for EMD in November 1995,” the notice explains.
The contract performance will take place at BAE Systems’ facility in Nashua, HH.
