Bernie Guerry promoted to GDIT COO
Bernie Guerry has been promoted to chief operating officer of General Dynamics IT (GDIT), the Fairfax, VA-based company announced September 26. In his role, Guerry will report to GDIT President Amy Gilliland and will be responsible for the company’s day-to-day operations. Guerry will continue to serve as senior vice president and general manager of GDIT’s Intelligence business.
“Bernie has more than 25 years leading large, complex organizations and has consistently demonstrated strong performance excellence within GDIT,” said Amy Gilliland, president of GDIT. “Bernie’s extensive leadership experience and his in-depth understanding of our customers will help drive the company’s continued success.”
Prior to joining General Dynamics in 2006, Guerry served as senior procurement executive for the U.S. government, overseeing its multibillion dollar contracting and acquisition program, major systems procurement, services, research and development and new technologies. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Guerry served on the Office of Management and Budget’s (OMB) Federal Acquisition Council, and was a member of the Intelligence Community Acquisition Council. Bernie Guerry began his career as an active duty Air Force officer.
