On September 2, Second Front Systems (2F) announced two updates to its board of directors: Nand Mulchandani, former chief technology officer of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), has joined as a director, and CEO Tyler Sweatt has been appointed chairman of the board.
Mulchandani brings over 25 years of experience bridging Silicon Valley innovation and national security. He co-founded and scaled startups to successful exits that helped shape modern enterprise technology, with acquisitions by Cisco, Citrix, VMware, and Oracle. He also spearheaded mission-critical technology innovation and accelerated national security as CTO at both the Department of Defense’s Joint Artificial Intelligence Center (JAIC) and the CIA.
“In today’s evolving threat environment, safeguarding free-world interests means fusing rapid commercial innovation with deep mission alignment,” said Mulchandani. “Like Tyler and so many others at 2F who carry forward their service in new ways, I see this company as the connective tissue between the tech sector and the missions that defend our values. I’m honored to join them in building the secure, tech backbone our government demands.”
“This is a pivotal moment for 2F,” Sweatt added. “I’ve long admired Nand’s leadership, and his expertise across both technology and national security strengthens our ability to expand the platform, deepen partnerships, and deliver the infrastructure that powers our nation’s most critical missions.”
Sweatt succeeds co-founder Peter Dixon, who as co-founder and chairman, was instrumental in shaping the company’s vision and positioning it as a trusted partner at the intersection of commercial innovation and national security.
“Peter’s steady leadership built the foundation that has allowed 2F to become the company we are today, and I’m grateful for his continued support as we enter this next chapter,” said Sweatt.
