STEELE CIS announces organizational change and appointment of EVP, Operations

STEELE CIS 112STEELE Compliance and Investigation Services (CIS), Inc., a San Francisco, CA-based provider of third-party compliance management solutions, announced on April 10 the appointment of Richard Lee as executive vice president of operations, reporting to the Chairman and CEO Kenn Kurtz. In this critically important role, Lee will have responsibility for STEELE CIS operations and will work closely with the functional teams to drive seamless execution of key strategic priorities including the launch of several new compliance products.

Reorganization of Content Management and Production

Taking a new approach to content management and production, STEELE CIS has formed four production groups that will support and manage client relationships and compliance intelligence content. Lee will assume overall responsibility for all STEELE CIS operational functions, including Investigative Analyst Group (IAG), Field Investigation Group (FIG), Major Account Group (MAG), and Operations Support Services (OSS).

Appointment of Executive Vice President of Operations

Lee has more than 20 years of experience as a lawyer, investigator, intelligence officer, and business leader with extensive achievements in generating end-user and shareholder value.

“Richard’s experience comprises a number of key disciplines, including ground source intelligence, critical research and analysis, and content management,” said Kurtz. “He understands STEELE CIS products, as well as the unique value that STEELE CIS brings to the market. He is particularly capable of managing the evolution of our products and processes as we keep up with the increased demand in the fast-growing compliance market.”

Before joining STEELE CIS, Lee held various leadership roles, including key positions in security, operations, legal, and business development at Fortune 500 companies. In those roles, he led an array of intelligence and risk management programs including anti-corruption, new market entry due diligence, enterprise business continuity management, and threat assessments. In addition to working in the private sector, Lee served in the United States intelligence community on Special Access Required Programs, leading operations for a variety of intelligence divisions and centers.

Lee graduated from the University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, and the University of Michigan Law School. He is a member of the Michigan Bar, District of Columbia Bar, and the American Society for Industrial Security.
