SPAWAR posts CANES presolicitation notice

On December 15, the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command posted a presolicitation notice for Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) Training Virtual Environment (Solicitation Number: N00039-18-R-0009).

The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command (SPAWAR), in support of the Program Executive Office for Command Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence (PEO C4I) Program Manager, Warfare (PMW) 160, Tactical Networks, intends to issue a Full and Open competitive Request for Proposal (RFP) N00039-18-R-0009 for the procurement of a Consolidated Afloat Networks and Enterprise Services (CANES) Training Virtual Environment (VE) solution in Q2FY18 timeframe.

CANES is the Navy’s Program of Record (POR) that consolidates and replaces existing afloat networks providing the necessary infrastructure for applications, systems and services required to dominate the cyber warfare tactical domain. CANES represents a key aspect of the Navy’s modernization planning by upgrading cybersecurity, command and control, communications and intelligence systems afloat, and by replacing unaffordable and obsolete networks.
