NSA releases USA FREEDOM Act transparency report

NSA 112The National Security Agency announced on January 14 the public release of its new report on the implementation of the USA FREEDOM Act, along with specific procedures – adopted by the U.S. Attorney General and approved by the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Court – that are designed to protect privacy rights. NSA’s Civil Liberties and Privacy Office conducted a civil liberties and privacy impact assessment to examine how NSA is implementing the new law.

Publication of the report supports the Principles of Intelligence Transparency for the Intelligence Community and underscores NSA’s commitment to ensuring that privacy protections are integrated into the Agency’s operations and procedures.
