Northrop Grumman and CA Technologies sign Cloud-related agreement

CloudNorthrop Grumman Corp. has signed an agreement with CA Technologies to help Northrop Grumman expand its Cloud-based services in the civil government, health care, and state and local markets.

Under the agreement announced on January 21, Northrop Grumman will be able to use CA CloudMinder to provide customers with a secure, cost-effective identity and access management (IAM) solution.

CA CloudMinder is a software-as-a-service (SaaS)-based service that provides user provisioning, self-service user management and an access request system; strong risk-based authentication; and federated single sign-on for both Cloud-based and on-premise applications.

With identity federation and single sign-on, users can enter a single password to access any application, whether on the customer’s government- or company-owned Cloud or on Northrop Grumman’s Cloud infrastructure. Northrop Grumman said it can securely and rapidly migrate and deploy existing and new applications on the Cloud for its customers.

“Protecting the security and privacy of our clients’ information is a top concern for Northrop Grumman,” said Amy Caro, vice president of health IT programs for Northrop Grumman. “Providing the right access to the right information is also particularly important in the health IT market. By working together to build a secure cyberspace, Northrop Grumman and CA Technologies will be able to better address our clients’ mission needs and deliver cost-effective, low-risk solutions.”

“The U.S. government’s Cloud-first strategy, combined with the cybersecurity executive order, demands unique solutions that help agencies secure their hybrid IT environments,” said Mike Denning, senior vice president and general manager of security solutions at CA Technologies. “We look forward to working with Northrop Grumman and supporting its IAM-as-a-service solution for its government customers and improve security and efficiencies, reduce risk, and help meet cybersecurity mandates across Cloud and on-premise applications.”
