NGA is accepting public comments on the Next NGA West Final Environmental Impact Statement

National Geospatial Intel 112The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency are accepting public comments on the Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) during the full 30-day review period as announced in the Federal Register.

The FEIS analyzed four sites and the environmental effects related to the construction and operation of a new, purpose-built campus for the agency. The FEIS, submitted to the Federal Register and released publically April 1, identifies an environmentally preferred alternative and the agency’s preferred alternative (APA; Sections 2.7 and 2.8 in the FEIS).

The comment period allows for additional public input before the signing of the final Record of Decision (no sooner than 30 days from the release of the FEIS). The Record of Decision is expected to be complete by early June 2016.

All comments should be sent to the Army Corps of Engineers, Kansas City District for assessment and evaluation by mail or email.
