New Air Force RFI for DCGS workstations

Air Force 112On March 19, the Air Force Materiel Command released a request for information (RFI) for Air Force Distributed Common Ground  System (DCGS) Enterprise Wide Workstation Solution (Solicitation Number: EW2S). Interested vendors should note that worksheets and information packages should be submitted electronically. The deadline for responses is Apr 02, 2015 5:00 pm Eastern.

AF DCGS is being transformed from a legacy based, stove-piped architecture to a Multi-INT, network centric AF DCGS Enterprise.  This project will move the weapon system to an open common secure virtualized enabled Information Technology software and workstation infrastructure supporting AF DCGS multiple security domains. The new MEW shall be more flexible, extensible, and cost efficient to meet the warfighters ever changing environment. Using open technologies and standards will allow the foundation for allowing enterprise administration, management and will allow for faster deployment of new applications and capabilities.

AF DCGS is planning to move to a standard MEWacross the Enterprise which will allow for better standardization across Multi-INT tools that are used in support of AF DCGS missions.  A standard set of tools will allow for more consistent analysis across the AF DCGS enterprise, provide for more accurate out-year and sustainment planning.  Other requirements include eliminating unnecessary spending on duplicate systems, tools and software, by acquiring only those systems, tools, and software that the enterprise can utilize.

AF DCGS MEW workstations will operate in AF DCGS. The System will provide consolidated applications to support GEOINT, Full Motion Video (FMV), COMINT, ELINT, and Surveillance and Warnings (S&W) exploitation in support of DART.  It will support theater planning, and reporting capabilities on the Secret Internet Protocol Network (SIPRNET), the Joint Worldwide Intelligence Communications System (JWICS), and the National Security Agency Network enclaves and Coalition Enclaves.
