MITRE appoints Katharyn White SVP, GM of MITRE Public Sector

The MITRE Corporation of McLean, VA announced on December 1 that it has named Katharyn White senior vice president and general manager of MITRE Public Sector (MPS), effective November 28. White will be responsible for MPS’s federal strategy and customer engagements for MITRE’s federally funded research and development centers (FFRDCs) for civilian agencies. These include the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Federal Aviation Administration, the Department of Homeland Security, the Department of the Treasury and Internal Revenue Service, and the Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts. She will also oversee MITRE’s international program.

White spent 21 years at IBM, where she most recently served as vice president of transformation in Global Business Services, leading change management efforts for 120,000 employees. Earlier, she was vice president for IBM’s partnerships with Apple, where she created a $1.6 billion mobile business, and she served as chief marketing officer. While at IBM she also influenced the corporation’s international business, holding managing partner and vice president roles in Europe, the Middle East, and Africa, where she led IBM through critical changes and remarkable growth.

Prior to joining IBM, White also held product manager and leadership roles with DuPont and Hewlett Packard.
