Lockheed Martin names new SVP for corporate strategy and business development

Lockheed logo 112Bethesda,MD-based Lockheed Martin announced on December 1 that it has appointed Bridget Lauderdale, 48, to senior vice president for corporate strategy and business development and a corporate officer effective January 1, 2015.

In her new role, Lauderdale will be responsible for enterprise business strategies and new business capture, and she will lead the Lockheed Martin business development organization with offices in 25 countries and 25 U.S. customer locations, the firm said.

“Bridget is an experienced leader with a proven track record of delivering results for our customers on many of our highest profile programs,” said Lockheed Martin Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer Marillyn Hewson. “I’m confident that Bridget’s commitment to meeting our customers’ expectations and her leadership in establishing global partnerships will help position us for growth in our core and international markets.”

Lauderdale is currently the vice president and general manager of aeronautics operations, where she is responsible for engineering, production operations, supply chain management, information systems & technology, quality & mission success and sustainment. During her 25 years with Lockheed Martin, Lauderdale has held a number of leadership roles of increasing responsibility within Aeronautics.

Previously she served as vice president and general manager for the F-16, F-2 and T-50 programs, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations and on-time delivery of these aircraft to our global customers. Lauderdale also held the position of vice president of F-22 product development where she led the industry team of partners in the design, development and test of future capabilities, as well as production and field improvements to the weapon system. She is a member of the board of directors for AMMROC, a UAE-based joint venture with Mubadala and Sikorsky delivering military maintenance, repair and overhaul services. Lauderdale holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from Texas A&M University.
