LightCyber debuts new Magna platform to unify network and endpoint analysis

LightCyber LightCyber, a provider of advanced breach detection solutions, unveiled on July 31 a new generation of its award-winning solution, LightCyber Magna. The new generation is the first product to combine network and endpoint analysis into a single real-time detection platform, making it easier than ever for organizations to quickly and cost effectively identify and mitigate attacks, says the company.

The first generation of the Magna platform introduced a network-based breach detection solution that passively monitors internal network traffic to profile the behavior of network users and endpoints, and identify deviations that may indicate a security breach. The second generation extends the platform by introducing new key features:

  • Agentless endpoint analysis — Magna Pathfinder provides security teams with actionable insight into security incidents via agentless endpoint analysis. Triggered by suspicious network activity, Magna Pathfinder collects host-level indicators to identify the origin of suspicious activity, giving organizations a clear characterization of breaches and how to respond and remediate them.
  • Cloud-based threat intelligence and malware analysis — Magna Cloud provides actionable information via a Cloud-based subscription service applying threat intelligence on malicious domains and files, as well as dynamic analysis (sandboxing) of unknown files.
  • Remediation and response: Magna Manager provides security teams with the ability to rapidly react to breaches directly from its console, isolating breached endpoints and compromised credentials before damage is done, via existing security controls such as network access control, firewalls and Active Directory servers.

“By now, most enterprises understand that their existing security solutions will not prevent their network from being breached,” said Gonen Fink, chief executive officer of LightCyber. “What they are looking for is a cost effective solution that can be quickly deployed to provide a small set of actionable incidents to remediate those breaches before damage is done. They are buying LightCyber Magna as it combines the scalability and simplicity of network products, with the accuracy and actionability of endpoint analysis in one single solution. It works out of the box and can be deployed quickly without installing agents and it eliminates the need to manually investigate a large amount of non-actionable alerts”.

LightCyber is enjoying very rapid market traction with dozens of new customers added to its customer base over the past few months in various verticals — including retail, legal, media, financial and telecom. LightCyber has also received recent high-profile recognition for its innovative approach. In June, LightCyber was named a ‘Cool Vendor’ by Gartner, and earlier this year it was named one of 10 finalists for RSA Conference’s 2014 Innovation Sandbox program. LightCyber also recently announced a strategic partnership with Check Point Software to offer their joint customers early breach detection, immediate response and advanced security protection.
