Dice Holdings, Inc. announced on September 16 that its WorkDigital unit has won the Top Innovator in Social Data award at DataWeek 2014.

EventGraph, a social media listening product, combines natural language processing with location data to provide more context to online conversations. With more than one billion individuals using apps that provide location data, EventGraph allows global brands to track conversations about their services, while adding the ability to understand where those conversations are occurring and view the profiles of the professionals engaged in those conversations.

“Social listening is an important space and we’re excited that our use of real-time location monitoring combined with semantic tools enables us to deliver a smarter platform,” said Howard Lee, CEO of WorkDigital. “A brand merely provides the place and time to monitor, while our service captures social media activity and runs it through our natural language processing engine to tag and structure the data, ultimately providing actionable intelligence.”

EventGraph leverages rich profile data from Dice’s Open Web, a recruiting tool that consolidates valuable, public information about professionals in one place. This additional data allows brands to get a clear picture of the individuals behind the public status updates found on social media.

“This is the second product from WorkDigital to win this award in two years and is great recognition for our continued efforts,” said Michael Durney, president and CEO, Dice Holdings, Inc. “We are creating products of enduring value using data to reveal fresh opportunities for companies to grow.”
