Dave Dacquino appointed Serco CEO

Serco Group plc of Reston, VA announced on June 16 the appointment of David Dacquino as chief executive officer of Serco Inc. (Serco’s Americas division).  The appointment follows the announcement in February that Dan Allen had informed the business of his intention to retire from this role in mid-2017.

Dacquino currently leads Serco Inc.’s Defense business, and will take on Allen’s responsibilities over the coming weeks, including joining Serco Group’s executive committee.  Dacquino joined Serco in 2015, bringing knowledge and experience from across the defense, aeronautics, logistics and technical services industries.  Before Serco, he served as president and CEO of SkyLink, a leading aviation and logistics service provider with international operations in over 60 countries.  Previous roles included: CEO for the North America operations of VT Group, a technology integrator with a strong focus on C4ISR, transportation, logistics and facilities management; vice president and lead executive of Raytheon Technical Services Company’s integrated support solutions division; and an extensive career at Lockheed Martin, where he ultimately held the position of vice president and general manager of logistic services and oversaw more than 3,500 personnel at 75 locations worldwide.

Rupert Soames, Serco Group chief executive, said, “I am delighted that Dave Dacquino will be succeeding Dan Allen in leading our Americas division.  Dave has made an excellent job of transforming our Defense business in the region over the last two years, and it now has a substantial pipeline of new bid opportunities.  I am also grateful to Dan, who since 2013 has steered the division through some choppy waters, and we wish him a happy retirement.”

“I am extremely excited to work with the entire Serco team as we carry forward the momentum of recent successes and continue to build Serco as ‘the high-performing public service delivery company.  Over the past year and half at Serco, I have developed a deep appreciation for our people, values, and the company’s strong commitment to providing services that are truly making a positive difference to our customers and the citizens,” said Dacquino.
