Camber Corporation announced on March 31 that it has completed the acquisition of the IT consulting services business from Avaya Government Solutions, a subsidiary of Avaya Inc.

With the formal closing of the acquisition, Camber will add to its workforce approximately 530 new employees in the information technology, software development and engineering, network architecture and engineering, and program management fields who support solutions for the defense and civil government markets.

As part of the acquisition, Camber adds to its portfolio prime positions on a number of large and important GSA vehicles and IDIQ contracts with an addressable market valued at more than $70 billion. These include GSA Alliant, USPS and Eagle II. This strategic positioning will enable Camber to compete for a broader portfolio of government contracts than ever before.

“Today, we are very excited to welcome a great team of highly qualified and experienced IT professionals to the Camber family,” said Walter Batson, Camber’s CEO. “With the addition of important new strategic customer relationships, a more diversified workforce, and a portfolio of significant contract vehicles, we have significantly strengthened our competitive position in the defense, intelligence, and civil government market.”

The acquisition will enhance Camber’s government enterprise architecture, IT, and software engineering solutions capabilities that can be applied to a larger catalog of contract vehicles for use throughout the federal government. Camber’s expanded workforce will have improved career opportunities due to the wider variety of services and capabilities the company offers to its government customers.
