Army to hold Cyberspace Industry and Innovation Day

Army seal 112On May 14, the US Army announced Army Cyberspace Industry and Innovation Day, which will take place May 28 in McLean.  Online registration closes May 25.

As cyberspace grows more complex, and increasingly contested with sophisticated threats able to exploit known and unknown vulnerabilities, cyberspace operations and cybersecurity are exceptionally critical to national security (House Armed Services Subcommittee on Emerging Threats and Capabilities, Lieutenant General Edward C. Cardon, Commanding General U.S. Army Cyber Command and Second Army, First Session 114th Congress, March 4, 2015). The Army’s portion of the cyberspace domain requires an effective understanding of the technology landscape as it relates to current and future cyberspace capability needs. Innovative technologies, processes, methods, facilities and capabilities are sought to identify, develop, test, provide access to, and improve technologies resident in universities, private and federal labs, incubators and industry that are focused on Army Cyberspace requirements (offensive, defensive, and DoDIN) related to weapons and weapons-systems. At all levels, the Army seeks to build, operate, and secure defensible networks, defending them against specific threats to achieve mission assurance, while denying the adversary freedom of action in the cyberspace domain.

An Industry and Innovation Day is planned for Thursday, 28 May 2015 in McLean, Virginia which will provide Industry/Academia the opportunity to obtain further details and engage in discussion on Government requirements with the Government sponsors. This Industry Day will serve as an initial opportunity for interested members of industry and academia to meet and discuss details with key Army stakeholders, Army Cyber, the U.S. Army Training and Doctrine Command (TRADOC), the Cyber Center of Excellence (CoE), and the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Army for Acquisition, Logistics, and Technology (ASAALT) Program Executive Offices (PEOs).

Information provided during Industry and Innovation Day will inform potential offerors of expected Army Cyberspace capability related efforts that will be conducted via quote mark Other Transaction Agreement quote mark OTA awards issued through a consortium of cyberspace technology developers (see FedBizOpps Special Notice: https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=2490723d56b4044c166a6fca9be305ab&tab=core&_cview=0)
